Reserva, ubicada en el corazón de Chiloé Continental, ha servido
como un laboratorio natural para realizar un completo catastro
de la avifauna de toda la región. Debido a la lógica movilidad y
distribución de la avifauna, la guía incluye también las
especies que habitan el adyacente Chiloé Insular.
La variedad de
ecosistemas presentes en Huinay, desde las montañas de los Andes
hasta los canales del Océano Pacífico, permitió a los autores
reconocer, describir y dejar graficada en esta obra la
sorprendente diversidad de aves que posee este territorio.
